WHAT THE SERVICE DOES

An insurance supplement asks for a change to an existing claim estimate. Hiraya helps contractors compare the estimate with the repair needs, prepare the added scope, and gather the evidence. The work starts with a specific difference: an omitted task, a wrong quantity, or a cost that needs review.

HOW WE HELP

Make each requested change easy to follow.

  • A review of the existing estimate
  • A list of missing or changed work
  • Photos and records linked to the changes
  • Support with estimate questions and follow-up

WHAT TO PREPARE

Start with the job details.

  • The full carrier estimate
  • Photos of the missing or changed scope
  • Measurements and relevant job reports
  • Earlier messages about the estimate
Use the document checklist
01 / IN PRACTICE

Start with the line that needs to change.

A larger total gives the reviewer little to work with. A specific repair, a measured quantity, and a photo give them something to check. Keep the original estimate beside the proposed change so the difference is clear.

02 / IN PRACTICE

Keep the evidence close.

Label photos by room or roof area. Put the measurement beside the item it supports. If a building rule or product instruction applies, keep the source and explain why it matters to this job. A reference should earn its place in the file.

03 / IN PRACTICE

Agree who handles the conversation.

Before work starts, discuss the project location, fees, and who may contact the insurer. The agreed role must fit the work and the rules that apply. A well-supported request still cannot promise coverage, approval, or a larger payment.

All questions
Do I need an existing estimate for a supplement?

A supplement asks to revise an estimate that already exists. Send the full carrier estimate and the records that support the change. If you need a repair scope written from the start, ask about Xactimate estimating.

How much does claim handling cost?

Hiraya’s fee is $150 per file plus 10% of increased value. Before you start, ask how increased value is defined, what support is included, and when payment is due.

Will Hiraya contact the insurance company?

Discuss carrier contact during the consultation. The role, authority, and scope of any communication need to be agreed for your project and location before work starts.

Does a supplement guarantee a higher payment?

No. A supplement is a request for review. The claim facts, policy, evidence, and insurer’s review determine the outcome.
